Abstract: Given the essential role of the clinical laboratory in the diagnosis and monitoring of dyslipidemia, it is crucial that professionals in this field remain consistently informed about the relevant European and national guidelines and consensus documents. In this context, the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) and the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) published, in 2020, a consensus statement on the quantification of atherogenic lipoproteins in the management of dyslipidemias. With the aim of disseminating this valuable information within the Romanian laboratory medicine community, we have prepared this paper as a synthesis in Romanian of the key recommendations from the aforementioned EAS/EFLM consensus. Following the structure of the original publication, the recommendations are organized according to the main phases of the testing process: pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical. It should be noted that the original document is significantly more comprehensive; in this work, we have limited ourselves to highlighting the main practical recommendations. For readers seeking a deeper understanding of the scientific rationale behind these guidelines, we encourage consulting the original publication.
